recent reports showed an association between barbaric surgery and the development of acute pancreatitis.in this report we present a case of acute pancreatitis following a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in a 24-year-old Indian female patient,who presented to the emergency department at Hamad General Hospital,Qatar with severe epigastric pain and persistent vomiting 13 days after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.She was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis based on high level of lipasegreater than 3 times the upper limit of normal and a computed tomography of the abdomen consistant with acute pancreatitis.she treated conservatively with significant improvement in her symptoms and consequently was discharged.
